Second Workshop

The second MS-GWaves  workshop took place 13 to 15 April 2016 at the Martin-Niemöller-Haus in Schmitten.

The workshop provided an overview of the state of the art of MS-GWaves projects and what could be contributed to progress. The scientific basis of the individual projects, progress to be reported so far, and plans for the future were presented. To discuss the research plans of MS-GWaves  in an international context international guests have been invited: Ronald Smith, Yale University, USA, Francois Lott, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, Kaoru Sato, University of Tokyo, Japan and Chantal Staquet, Laboratoire des Écoulements Géophysiques et Industriels, Grenoble. Sato and Staquet additionally were leading a discussion on gender issues.  Plenary sessions, breakout groups and a walk around the hill gave a lot of room for discussions, so research is now highly-motivated going on.
